A soft, dreamy two tier cake finished in bands of pastel buttercream, spread by hand so the edges stay wavy and the colours drift from aqua through cream and peach into pink. A tall fondant rainbow arch stands on top behind a crown of piped cream ruffles, and dozens of little fondant butterflies in lilac, blue, orange, yellow and pink settle across both tiers with their wings lifted away from the surface. Tiny sugar blossoms are dotted in between them, and a small rainbow trails a ribbon of colour down the front of the lower tier. The lettering on the rainbow and on the covered board is personalised to order, so the name and the age are made for the birthday girl.
